Regeneration and Transformation

Feel Better, Move Better, Live Better, Perform Better.

Phoenix Physio is run by Clinical Director Joni Morley who is committed personally and professionally to deliver a superior experience to all clients, to understand their needs, to empower them and to improve their quality of life.

The process will start with a thorough initial assessment and expert diagnosis and from this you can expect a bespoke treatment plan addressing your individual needs, interests, goals, thoughts and values.  A shared decision-making approach to the treatment plan will ensure the treatment is highly aligned to your goals, aspirations and requirements.

Our aim at Phoenix Physio is to inspire, instil confidence and motivate you, using the latest research and evidence-based practice.

Joni’s professional approach abides with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s code of members’ professional values and behaviours.

My career

Joni Morley qualified with a BSc.Honours degree from University College London in 1995 and has 28 years of clinical experience. She gained 12 years of experience working at some of London’s leading NHS and private hospitals. These included the Whittington, UCLH, HCA/London Bridge, Physio Remedies in Mayfair and she was deputy manager at the Princess Grace Hospital.

Joni has a personal background in dance and attended a full-time ballet/performing arts school as a child. Whilst in London she was able to develop her interest in treating performers, understanding their needs, and gained experience treating musicians, actors, artists and dancers.

She then had the opportunity to ‘run away with the circus’ and toured worldwide for a few years with NoFit State Circus, Britain’s leading contemporary circus, as their sole medical practitioner.

On her return she worked as an inpatient and outpatient physiotherapist at Bath Clinic for 10 years and has extensive post-operative and rehabilitation experience and enjoys close working relationships with some of Bath’s orthopaedic and rheumatology consultants.

She joined TeamBath at the university in 2015 and spent five years treating its staff and students and a wide range of clients from the community whose ages ranged from 5 years' old to 95 years' old. She was a physio for the TeamBath Superleague Netball team, the Swim team, the Judo team, BUCS teams and has treated some of the rhythmic gymnasts who also train there.

Joni has gained post graduate qualifications in Pilates, a Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy, completed Masters modules in the Lower Limb and Acupuncture and has developed experience in the Biomechanics of running, treating running injuries and running re-education.

She has a particular interest in treating hypermobility related problems and clients with chronic and longstanding complex pain issues.

She is a very experienced hands-on joint and soft tissue manual therapist and enjoys treating complex neck, shoulder and pelvis problems, as well as correcting longstanding movement and biomechanical dysfunctions, and resolving postural and ergonomic issues.
